We practice what we preach - Take a look at our Scrum Process

Updated: Aug 2, 2020

Our First Scrum Meeting 16/06/20: The one where we set the course (Pilot)

Today we discussed and organized the sprint planning, defining the roles of each member (product owner, SCRUM master, and development team). Also, we assigned tasks in the sprints for each member and classified what was in the backlog, in progress or done already. Additionally, we as a team came up with different ideas of names and logos for our website.

Scrum Meeting 18/06/20: The one where Joserra saved us

We have discussed with the professor (Joserra Ramon Diaz) which of the elements were put correctly in the backlog. Also, he gave us advice on which elements will add value to the user, providing us the understanding and clarifying what to include and discard. From his feedback, we changed some elements and we reorganized each of them according to the progress.

Scrum Meeting 21/06/20: The one with all the Wizards

Here we were deciding the design of the website. We agreed as a team the name of our website ‘Agile Wiz’! How cool is that name? We love it.

Scrum Meeting 24/06/20: The one where Agustin opened our eyes

We came up with the template for the website and we discussed how we were going to organize the content and also the colors we were going to use. Also, we have decided to split the content of the Agile Principles throughout the website classified per principle. Additionally, we updated our Trello based on the tasks that were already in progress and we spent time discussing the logo that will be included in the website. Agustin came into the meeting and gave us feedback on how we were organizing the Trello. He helped us understand how we can arrange the requirements according to priority.

Sprint 1 - Retrospective 30/06/20: The one with our very first retrospective. Woo!

Today, we did the sprint review. We discussed which sprint we are going to create in order to continue and improve the project.

We also did the retrospective/review of our first sprint. We created and added stickies where we evaluated through brainstorming. We discussed, after, which actions we could do in order to improve and be more efficient as a team and generate creative content. Then, we assigned actions to each member of the group and agreed to balance responsibilities efficiently.

Scrum Meeting 07/07/20: The one with the good and bad

Today we discussed what we wanted to do in the sprint. We reviewed the feedback from Joserra and figured out how we were organizing the website in order to make corrections based on that.

Scrum Meeting 10/07/20: The one with the brilliant idea

We reviewed the actions taken from the previous meeting and we discussed what everyone did, commenting, and giving feedback on each participant. Today, we had a brilliant idea. (we will reveal it soon enough)

Scrum meeting: 13/07/2020: The one with the improvements

Feedback session on all Improvements and changes made so far:

We took into consideration our customer's feedback from the previous Sprint and renamed our "All posts" tab to "Recent Posts" to avoid confusing the users and to direct them to the other tabs such as - Agile History, Agile Values, Agile Principle and Our Scrum Process (which includes all screenshots of our process). Additionally, based on our 1st retrospective decision we added a lot more creative content through videos.

We have also made it easier for the user to connect with us through the chat and email option.

Sprint 2 - Retrospective 15/07/2020: The one with all the progress

In this retrospective, we found that the decisions and discussion went a lot smoother, possibly due to the practice we had in the previous sprint, with your guidelines. The following were our takeaways for this sprint:

1.  Create two different backlogs for Product and Sprint for improved visualization.

2. Add a lot more creative content

3. Add a new tab to share content where we can engage with the user through the comments

4. We also discussed what we were going to add to our last sprint.

Scrum meeting: 20-07-2020: The one with better visualization

We discussed the requirements that we had decided to work on for the final sprint. Also, per our discussion in the sprint retrospective, we created two different backlogs - sprint, and product - to improve the visualization of our process.

We then categorized the tasks based on the order of priority on the product backlog

Scrum meeting 24/07/2020: The one before all the exams

In this scrum meeting, we discussed our progress and kept each other in the loop about the tasks we were working on. We also discussed one of the elements on our Product backlog - that is, the 3 internal stories and unanimously decided against including it on our website since our 3 learning post had quite a lot of content in common with that.

Scrum meeting 28/07/2020: The one where we're almost done

In this meeting we discussed what we had left to complete and estimated by when we could be finished. We as a group decided that we wanted to have the final product ready by the 31st of July, so we could do hold our final review and retrospective on the 1st of August. Fingers-crossed, we will make this happen, as a team!!

Final Sprint Retrospective 1/08/2020: The one with the final review

Today was the day we came together to take one final look back at our process, the product that we had developed, and how well it reflects the client's requirements.

On discussing we looked back and congratulated ourselves on how well we worked together, and how all of our goals had been met.

Before ending the meeting we discussed how much we had learnt through the course of this project, and how much of it we planned to implement in all of our future group projects. All in all, this was a bitter sweet meeting for us Wizards. We walked away from this meeting with a promise to keep this website alive and continue to try and educate ourselves and others on all things Agile.
