Although different Agile methodologies implement slightly different processes, they all rely on the 4 core values to guide the development and delivery of software that truly satisfies the client’s requirements.

This set of values encourages organizations to put emphasis on people over processes, delivering software that works, customer collaboration, and more importantly, to be open to adapting to change.

The manifesto lists the values as the following –

1. Individuals and interactions over processes and tools

2. Working software over comprehensive documentation

3. Customer collaboration over contract negotiation

4. Responding to change over following a plan

It further states that “while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.”

Let’s dive deeper and take a closer look at the 4 Agile Values and understand how they can be interpreted in the posts that follow.
