“Simplicity–the art of maximizing the amount of work not done–is essential.”
Simplicity is key. Agile principles encourage us to maximize results by simultaneously minimizing the amount of work done. Somewhat like the 80-20 rule where we get 80 percent of our intended results with just 20 percent of the work. In order to do this, an organization must be ruthless in prioritizing tasks and making decisions. Spending time and resources on unnecessary features that do not add value to the customer or spending too much time planning must be avoided at all costs. Every member on the agile team must have a clear picture of the task at hand and focus entirely on what needs to be done.
